A high-level delegation from Indian Army visits Korea to participate in the 3rd edition of India-ROK Army Staff Talks

A high level delegation from Indian Army led by Major General Anil Kumar Kashid, Additional Director General (International Cooperation) visited Republic of Korea to participate in the 3rd edition of India-ROK Army Staff Talks scheduled from 26-28 October 2022.

The bilateral discussion was hosted by a delegation led by the Deputy Chief of Policy at ROK Army HQ. At the onset of the visit, the Indian delegation interacted with Mr. Amit Kumar, Ambassador of India to ROK and briefed him about the planned engagements with the ROK side.

At the Army Staff Talks, both sides stressed the need for enhanced interaction between the military leadership, expert level engagements, sharing best practices, expanding orientation to the niche technology, enhancing inter-operability to counter emerging threats, and also deliberated on issues of common interest.

The delegation also called on the Chief of Staff, ROK Army, and briefed on the status of ongoing and future potential cooperation between the two armies. Major General Anil Kumar Kashid also conveyed warm greetings to the ROK Chief of Army Staff on behalf of the Indian Chief of Army Staff. In addition, the delegation also interacted with the hierarchy of ROK Army, visited premier training institutes, and exchanged views with respective nodal agencies with the aim to steer service level cooperation to new areas.

India and Republic of Korea are pursuing a Special Strategic Partnership, and defence and security cooperation are important pillars of our wide ranging bilateral ties.
