At the invitation of the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid an official visit to this country on November 21-22 this year.
The second day of the visit was also full of negotiations. On November 22, a welcoming ceremony took place for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev who is paying an official visit to the French Republic, in the Paris Veterans' House.

The soldiers of the Republican Guard of France lined up on the square in honor of the distinguished guest. A military orchestra performed the national anthems of the two countries. The ceremony concluded with a solemn march of the Guard of honor.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad Olivier Becht saw a guard of honor and greeted the members of official delegations.
After the ceremony, the delegation of Uzbekistan has gone to the Elysee Palace, the residence of the President of France and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of France Emmanuel Macron held talks.

The heads of state discussed in detail the issues of further building up the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and France and agreed to bring the relations to a comprehensive high-level partnership.
The leaders noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral ties, the deepening of a broad political dialogue, the provision of mutual support within international organizations, the promotion of inter-parliamentary dialogue in the year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and France.

An interest was expressed in further strengthening bilateral cooperation in security, effective counteraction to emerging challenges and threats.
The importance of increasing trade-economic and investment cooperation, in particular, increasing the volume of trade turnover, the number of joint projects and programs involving advanced technologies, was emphasized.

The results of Uzbekistan – France business events held on the eve of the visit were highly appreciated. Trade-economic agreements and contracts worth over 6 billion euros were signed at the events.
The importance of the development of cultural-humanitarian ties was emphasized. The parties supported the opening of branches of the French Alliance in Samarkand, and welcomed the holding of the second Uzbekistan – France Educational Forum on November 27-28 this year in Paris. An agreement was reached on the development of cooperation in training French language teachers.

The heads of state exchanged views on the current international and regional issues.
On November 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Chairman of the French National Assembly Yael Braun Piver at Bourbon Palace in Paris.
There was an exchange of views on the further deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the field of reforms for the further democratization of social and political life.
The Chairman of the French National Assembly appreciated the progress of large-scale democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, including in the areas of developing parliamentarism, ensuring and protecting human rights and freedoms, and promoting gender equality.

A particular attention was paid to the aspects of ensuring gender equality. There was a huge progress achieved by Uzbekistan, where women occupy a worthy place in the legislative and executive authorities, business and the social sphere.
On September 2022, the 14th Summit of Women Leaders of Parliaments of the World was held in our country for the first time. The Tashkent Declaration on Enhancing the Role of Women Leaders was adopted.
They also discussed the key approaches to preparing for a constitutional reform, within which it is planned to consolidate the norms on the abolition of the death penalty, enhanced guarantees of human rights, solving the environmental problems and other important provisions.
Agreements were reached on holding the meetings of the parliamentary friendship group, strengthening interaction on the platforms of the UN Human Rights Council, the European Parliament, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
