Until now, President Park has been presenting clear visions and goals to university members with creative wisdom and leadership whenever the university experiences a crisis while serving as a professor and president of Kyungnam University.
Park Jae-kyu has devoted himself to research and education for peaceful unification since the establishment of the Far East Research Institute affiliated with Kyungnam University in 1972.
His representative books include "North Korea Diplomacy Theory," "North Korea's New Diplomacy and Survival Strategy," "North Korea's Dilemma and Future," "A New Unification Story," and "A Road to Peaceful Unification."

In addition, as South Korea's chief delegate to the first to fourth inter-Korean ministerial talks, he has greatly contributed to the establishment of principles and standards for dialogue between the two Koreas and the inter-Korean relationship.

Even after he stepped down from office, he served as a presidential advisor, a member of the President's Social Integration Committee, and an advisor to the Unification Preparation Committee, leading the way in social integration for peace, unification, and public opinion on the Korean Peninsula.
In recognition of these efforts, he received the Cheongjo Geunjeong Medal awarded by the Korean government, the F.D.U.
