Seo wins 65.6% of the votes and was elected in the first round without a final vote

Former President Seo Yoo-seok of Mirae Asset Global Investments was elected as the 6th president of the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA).

The Korea Financial Investment Association announced that the decision was made as a result of voting for 244 of the 385 regular member companies that attended the general meeting at the extraordinary general meeting held on Dec. 23 at the Yeouido Gold Investment Center in Seoul.

The new chairman Seo won 65.6% of the votes and was elected in the first round without a final vote. Chairman Seo has experience in both securities companies and asset management companies, such as serving as president of Mirae Asset Maps Global Investments and Mirae Asset Global Investments after working in marketing, retail, and retirement pension at Mirae Asset Securities after working at Hana Financial Investment.

Born in 1962, he graduated from the Department of Economics at Korea University, completed a master's degree in financial management at Korea University Business School, and a CEO course at Sogang University Business School.

After being elected, Seo expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is an unexpectedly high approval rating. I will calmly implement the pledges I have made one by one and visit the representatives of member companies often to hear their opinions."

The term of the 6th chairman of the Financial Investment Association is 3 years from January 1 next year to December 31, 2025.
