With Order of Diplomatic Service Merit, Kwanghwa Medal (highest)

Former Ambassador Vitali V. Fen of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Seoul was decorated with an Order of Diplomatic Service Merit, Kwanghwa Medal (highest among the Diplomatic Service Merit Medals) offered by the President of the Republic of Korea at the Korean Embassy in Uzbekistan on Feb. 16, 2014.

The Medal was presented to Ambassador Fen by Korean Korean Ambassador Lee Uk-Hyun in Uzbekistan on behalf of President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea.

The decoration of Ambassador Fen was in recognition of his outstanding service as ambassador of Uzbekistan to Korea for the past 17 years since 1996 greatly contributing to the promotion of relations between Korea and Uzbekistan upgrading them to the status of a strategic partnership.

Present at the medal presentation ceremony, among other guests, were the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Minister Alisher Okhunjonov of the Uzbek Embassy in Seoul, former 1st Secretary Ms. Natalia Lyutko and former Counsellor Alikhanov Bakhodir and many friends of Ambassador Fen.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Lee expressed sincere gratitude to Ambassador Fen for the outstanding contributions made to the promotion of bilateral relations and expressed hopes that Fen will continue to contribute to the cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador Fen also served as the Dean of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps and made great contributions to the improvement of understanding and friendship between all the ambassadors in Seoul and the Korean government and the society as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea.
