Expanding international cooperation via technology-based ODA, R&D networks, and agro-material exports
The Rural Development Administration (RDA) of Korea has announced a comprehensive plan to expand the global reach of “K-Agricultural Technology” as part of its efforts to help address the growing global food security crisis and promote sustainable agricultural development.
According to the RDA, a press briefing titled “Utilizing K-Agricultural Technology to Contribute to Global Food Security” will be held on November 25 at the KOCIS Center in the Korea Press Center, Seoul. The session will be led by Kim Hwang-yong, Director General of the RDA’s Technology Cooperation Bureau.
During the briefing, Kim will present the agency’s key directions for global cooperation. The RDA plans to establish a global agricultural R&D network led by Korea, enhance the effectiveness of agricultural technology-based official development assistance (ODA) through closer partnerships, and promote mutually beneficial exports of agricultural materials and equipment. These initiatives are aimed at leveraging Korea’s technological strengths to support developing countries in building resilient and sustainable food systems.
“Amid increasing uncertainties in global food security caused by climate change and geopolitical instability, K-Agricultural Technology can serve as a vital solution to shared global challenges,” Kim said. “Based on Korea’s advanced agricultural expertise, we will continue to work closely with the international community to create a sustainable future together.”
The upcoming briefing will include a thematic presentation followed by a Q&A session, offering an opportunity to share the RDA’s vision for international cooperation and its concrete strategies for implementing Korean agricultural technologies on a global scale.
