SEOUL, Jan. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea on Tuesday ordered Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Motors Inc., and Renault Samsung Motors Co. to recall their diesel models with gas emissions that exceed legal limits in recent tests.
The Ministry of Environment ordered the recall of Hyundai's Tucson 2.0, Kia's Sportage 2.0 and Renault Samsung's QM3.
The carmakers are obligated to report to the ministry detailed recall plans that include an analysis of the defects and measures to fix them within 45 days. After the ministry approves the recall plan, the carmakers will notify car owners individually and provide them with free repair services.

The order is applied on 126,000 units of the Sportage 2.0, 80,000 units of the Tucson 2.0, and 41,000 units of the QM3.
