Oman hosts National Day reception

Ambassador Mohamed Salim Alharthy of the Sultanate of Oman in Seoul hosted a reception at the Millennium Seoul Hilton on Nov. 18, 2013 to celebrate the 43rd National Day of his country.

The reception also provided the guests with an opportunity to view the photographs of various features of Oman, including the people and tourism attractions as well the history and culture of the country.

There were many distinguished Korean and international guests attending the party, including Korean government representatives and business leaders as well as the ambassadors and other senior members of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps.

From the Korean side came Vice Minister Dr. Chong Kim of Culture, Sports & Tourism, Director Woong Chul Pak of the Middle East Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Soong Chull Shin, Vice-Chairman of the International Construction Association of Korea, Publisher-Chairman Lee Kyung-sik of The Korea Post, Vice President Jeong Sup Shin of Hanjin Heavy Industries, and Artists Kim Dong-hyun and Lee Byung-Hun.

Among the foreign dignitaries were many mission chiefs, including Dato Haji Harun Ismail of Brunei Darussalam (dean of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps), Koro Bessho of Japan, Mustafa Naci Saribas of Turkey, Sylvestre Kouassi Bile of Cote d'Ivoire, Vasyl Marmazov of Ukraine, Luis T. Cruz of the Philippines, Tissa Wijeratne of Sri Lanka, Jaroslav Olsa, jr. of Czech Republic, Natallia Zhylevich of Belarus, Jad El Hassan Amb of Lebanon, Grecia Fiodalicia Pichardo of Dominican Republic, Hocine Sahraoui of Algeria, Ngovi Kitau of Kenya, Ahmad Masoumifar of Iran, Kaman Singh Lama of Nepal, Nikoloz Apkhazava, LL.D, of Georgia, Dato’ Rohana Ramli (Lady ambassador) of Malaysia, Ahmad Y. Al-Barrak of Saudi Arabia, Tajeldeen Elhadi Eltahir of Sudan, Albino Malungo of Angola and Shahbaz M. Malik of Pakistan (CDA).

There also were Counsellor Gregorz Rybarski of Poland, Deputy Head of Mission Sherif Ismail of Egypt.
Ambassador Alharthy showed Vice Miniter Kim around to the photographs of Oman and the Omani palm dates and beverage, explaining to him on the pictures. k
