Aspiring to be a ‘multiple vocalist’
A “welcome change” is underway in the music world. Today, many musicians would like to pursue diverse genres of music instead of being devoted to one specialty, in a bid to communicate the audience directly.
One of these “multiple vocalists” is soprano Bae un-hee,
who was born and raised in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. She is becoming increasingly popular as she seeks to “communicate with the audience wholeheartedly.”
Ms. Bae majored in voice music at Yeungnam University in Daegu, Korea’s third largest city. She went to Italy to further her pursuit of music. She studied voice music and conducting at AIDM(Accademia Internazionale di Musica) in Rome.
Afterwards, she has performed in a number of operas and musicals, while demonstrating her quality as a promising musician. She appeared in leading operas, including La Traviata, Bom Bom (Spring Spring), Bastien and Bastienne, the Love Portion, Ginanni Schicchi, Lucia Di Lammermoor and Dido and Aeneas and musical Turandot. She also performed as a soloist of Carl Orff “Carmina Burana.” She always wanted to be known as a ‘vocalist wishing to communicate with the audience always in these performances.”
In addition, Ms. Bae performed with Daegu Grand Symphony Orchestra, and “welcoming spring concerts.” She also took time to appear as a special guest in MBC TV and other television events. In 2012, she won the top prize in Gyeongan International Concours.
