New Airport
All the necessary infrastructure has been prepared for the Samarkand Summit, a new modern and high-tech airport has been built.
The design of the project demonstrates a combination of the past and the present. The terminal building of the air harbor has the form of an open book depicting the fundamental work of the great scientist Mirzo Ulugbek “Ziji Jadidi Guragoni” (or “New Guraganov Astronomical Tables”). Constellations are depicted on the roof of the airport. This once again reminds residents and guests of the city of the great contribution of the famous astronomer Mirzo Ulugbek to global science and civilization. The height of the building is 175 meters, width – 25 meters.
Modern technologies have been introduced to create tourist amenities: a new type of passenger and cargo registration and a comfortable service system after boarding is established.

This is another local attraction. The length of the canal is 2180 meters, the width is more than 150 meters. It fully complies with international competition standards.
It hosts various international competitions. In particular, it was decided that in 2025 the Asian Youth Games will be held in Uzbekistan, and the rowing tournaments – in Samarkand.
The SCO Samarkand Summit will become the fourth forum of the Organization held in Uzbekistan. The venue of the previous SCO Summits, which were held in Uzbekistan in 2004, 2010 and 2016, was only the capital.
