The KFCC, based on the successful conclusion of this workshop, plans to further develop and execute various projects on digital and financial inclusion at the community level by establishing strategic partnership and strengthening cooperative relations with international organizations including UN ESCAP.

During the workshop, Director Woojong Sim of the International Development Cooperation Team at KFCC, presented the successful domestic and international cases of Saemaul Geumgo financial inclusion model. He stated, “With the workshop as a starting point, KFCC plans to share this South Korea’s representative and unique financial inclusion model with the entire world through diverse cooperation with UN ESCAP.”

KFCC, based on the success of Saemaul Geumgo financial inclusion activities in South Korea, has already disseminated such savings model in many developing countries including Myanmar, Uganda, and Laos. This particular financial model has been recognized as the best practice in South Korea, which brought KFCC the honor to receive the presidential award on the International Development Day in 2021.
