Director Ms. Anna Łagodzińska of the Polish Investment & Trade said, “We are honored to invite you to an event for Korean companies interested in investing in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, especially Poland.”

Speaking at a seminar held Federation of Korean Industries building on Yoido-do Ilet in Seoul on Oct. 24, 2023, Director Łagodzińska noted, “Korean investors are increasingly interested in the Central and Eastern Europe region due to a number of attractive factors, including its strategic location, skilled labor force, competitive costs, and robust infrastructure.” Excerpts from her speech follow:

As of 2021, the cumulative investment of Korean companies in the CEE region exceeded US$18billion. Favorable policies and political stability have made the CEE region an increasingly attractive investment destination.

In addition, the region's growth potential and commitment to the green transition in sectors such as manufacturing, electric mobility (e-mobility), technology, and renewable energy are attracting investors.

In addition, the CEE region is also expected to play an important role in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

At this seminar, experts will present the reasons behind the success of bilateral relations between Korea and the Central and Eastern European region.

Distinguished guests present here today will learn the names of major Korean companies who have invested in the Central-Eastern Europe region, key differences between the countries, labor force, incentives, real estate availability, and new hotspots suitable for investment by Korean companies.

Furthermore, we will focus on Poland, the largest country in the Central and Eastern Europe region, presenting recent infrastructure developments in the country, attractive new incentive programs, and a step-by-step guide to project implementation from a legal perspective.

Poland is a major foreign investor in the region, with South Korea playing a

prominent position in Poland.

There are currently around 600 companies with Korean capital in Poland, making Korea the second largest non-European investor in the country.

The Korean entrepreneurs are actively investing in Polish industrial land, introducing advanced technologies and utilizing unique expertise.
