On 1 November
On November 1, the Korea Forest Service (KFS) held a ceremony at the National Assembly Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to commemorate Foresters' Day to remind people of the importance of forestry and mountain villages and to encourage the achievements of foresters.
The theme of the ceremony, which marks the fourth year since it was designated as a statutory anniversary, was "50 Years with Foresters, 100 Years with Foresters," to recognize and encourage foresters who have contributed to the forestry sector for a long time and achieved remarkable results, as well as to capture the shape and vision of where our forests and forestry should go in the future.
The highest honor of the ceremony, the Dongtap Industrial Medal, was awarded to Cho Sung-hoon, a member of the Korea Forest Management Association, and Lee Sang-gui, a policy officer of the Korea Federation of Foresters.

"This year marks the 50th anniversary of the greening of the national territory and the first anniversary of the declaration of the 100-year vision for Korea's forests, and we are implementing various policies so that foresters and the public can enjoy the economic, environmental, and social benefits of forests," said Nam Hyun-hyun, head of the Korea Forest Service. "I hope this day will serve as an opportunity to draw a picture of the future of forestry that will change in the future."
