Uzbekistan is widely celebrating the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution

These days, the people of Uzbekistan is widely celebrating the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of our country.

The Constitution as a main law determines the image and authority of each country. Based on this feature, it can be said that the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is an important legal document that introduced our country to the world and created a legal basis for active action as an equal subject of international relations. When talking about constitution, it is appropriate to also recognize its main legal source in the process of internal reforms.

In this sense, the referendum held in our country on April 30 of this year to make amendments and additions to the Constitution had an important historical significance. It was the political reality that expressed the unanimity and unity of our people, as well as common goals. The results of the referendum showed that our citizens fully support the reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan.

We have entered a new era with one truth – the Constitution has become a document, the authors of which are the people. Active participation of young generation in the process indicates that they are not indifferent to their fate, live with a sense of ownership in the development of the country. In all processes, from the drafting of amendments all the way up to the referendum, our people demonstrated their strong political faith and will, voted for its approval. In other words, our people have said their word, confidently confirmed the choice of the future that they will not deviate from the chosen path.

Starting from May 1, the renewed Constitution entered into force. It reflects the aspirations of the Uzbekistan people to build a New Uzbekistan. It will leave an indelible mark on the history of Uzbekistan, will have a great impact both on our national sovereignty and on the life of each person. Each and every article in it guarantees a person’s honor and dignity, rights and freedoms.

A lot of work is currently underway to celebrate the Constitution Day, not only in our country, but also among citizens of Uzbekistan living abroad. In particular, on this occasion a special event was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul with the participation of compatriots living in South Korea. They discussed the meaning and role of the Constitution in the development of society.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our entire nation on the day of adoption of our Constitution. I fully believe that the new Constitution of New Uzbekistan will serve as a solid legal basis that determines the fate of the Motherland, citizens’ well-being, present and future of our youth.
