Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul celebrates Great Victory Day-2023
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul celebrated the Great Victory Day at the Embassy on 16 December 2023 with due fervour and festivity. The officials of the Embassy and their family members and expatriate Bangladeshis living in the Republic of Korea participated in the event. On this occasion, the Chancery building was decorated with lighting.
The programme began in the morning with the hoisting of the national flag of Bangladesh at the Embassy premises by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea H.E. Delwar Hossain. In the afternoon, Ambassador Delwar Hossain paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths in front of his bust inside the Chancery in the presence of the Embassy officials and expatriate Bangladeshis. A special prayer was offered for the salvation of the departed souls of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the valiant freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices during the war of liberation, and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country.
The Embassy officers read out the messages of the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Embassy also organized a discussion session on the background and significance of the day.
In his remark, Ambassador Delwar Hossain paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He also recalled with deep reverence the outstanding contribution of the Father of the Nation and the supreme sacrifices made by the valiant freedom fighters for the independence of Bangladesh. While highlighting the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, he called upon the expatriate Bangladeshis to maintain Bangladesh’s development and achievement by discharging their duties and responsibilities towards the motherland.
Ambassador along with the participants cut a cake to celebrate this occasion. It was followed by a colourful cultural programme with the participation of Bangladeshi and Korean performers.
