BBQ Chicken from Korea's largest chicken franchise, Genesis BBQ Group (led by Chairman Yoon Hong-geun) has been selected as the "Best Fried Chicken" by the American food magazine, Taste of Home.

The announcement by Taste of Home is considered to be more meaningful as it beats many global chicken franchises such as KFC to win the top spot in the U.S.

‘Taste of Home’ visited seven chicken fast food restaurants across the U.S., sampled their fried chicken, and ranked them, according to the Genesis BBQ Group, which announced today that BBQ was the top chicken.

Reports indicate that BBQ was followed by Checkers, Chick-fil-A, KFC, Papa John's, Raising Cane's, and Wingstop.

Taste of Home is a leading food-focused media brand in the U.S. Founded in 1993, Taste of Home is a food magazine with 1.9 million subscribers and 20 million unique monthly website visitors.

"This chicken lived up to its name (BBQ, Best of the Best Quality)," wrote writer Christina Vanni, "with the most moist flesh of the batch, and the ideal combination of light, crispy batter that provided a delightful flavor."

Here excerpts from a report by an internationally recognized culinary authority, renowned food writer, TV host, accomplished recipe developer:

They cited the rich juiciness, crispy fried skin, and subtle spiciness after the sweetness that keeps you coming back for more.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as the most delicious chicken and wings in the U.S., the home of our franchise and chicken," said a BBQ representative. "We will continue to challenge and strive to become the best chicken brand in the world with Korean flavor as a Korean brand."

BBQ has restaurants in 27 of the 50 states, including major cities in New York, New Jersey, and California, and operates more than 700 restaurants in the U.S. and 57 countries abroad, including Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

In September last year, BBQ was introduced as America's favorite K Chicken by QSR Magazine, a U.S. restaurant publication, and was named the "Fastest Growing Restaurant Brand in the U.S." by Nation's Restaurant News, a global restaurant industry publication. BBQ was the only Korean brand to make the list for three consecutive years.
