Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, Mr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh participates in the Third Summit for Democracy-Ministerial Conference.

Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, Mr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh participated in the Third Summit for Democracy-Ministerial Conference on the theme: ‘AI/Digital Technology and Democracy’ hosted by RoK Foreign Minister in Seoul on 18 March 2024. India has also participated in the previous editions of the Summit for Democracy, launched in 2021.

In his remarks, MoS Singh referred to immense potential of digital technology & AI to strengthen democracy, and to transform governance making it more efficient, inclusive, faster and transparent, and enhancing service delivery. He called for prioritizing digital inclusion and access, and ethical development of AI and its responsible use to maximize the benefits for our citizens. He underlined that democratic values, combined with technology, will be a force multiplier for greater good. (Full remarks is enclosed)

MoS Singh also met ROK Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul. They discussed the wide-ranging India-ROK relations, including economy, technology, culture and P2P ties. They welcomed the 10th Joint Commission Meeting co-chaired by EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar and FM Cho earlier this month in Seoul. They resolved to work together to implement the understandings reached by both sides.

During his visit, MoS Singh also interacted with representatives of the Indian Community in RoK.
