South Korea's industry ministry on Oct. 24, 2018 helped kick off the Korea Electronics Show (KES) 2018 for a four-day run, with more than 700 firms to show off their latest products and solutions.

The ministry said that at this year's event, which centers on the fourth industrial revolution, the participating companies unveiled their achievements in utilizing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and virtual reality.

Along with the electronics exhibition where 434 companies, including Samsung Electronics Co., LG Electronics Inc. and Mercedes-Benz, are participating, the ministry said there are also separate venues for semiconductor and display firms.

The organizer said participating companies will have opportunities to meet business partners and investors from around the globe.

During the KES, key IT firms such as Facebook and Alibaba will also take part in the international conference, where companies share their visions and business strategies. (Yonhap)
