Presidents of South Korea and Uzbekistan held a summit meetingMay 28, 2015

President Park Geun-hye held a summit meeting with President Islam Karimov of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae in Seoul this morning. President Karimov is in Seoul on an official state visit to Korea at the invitation of President Park.

It is a second summit meeting of President Park with President Karimov since their last meeting in Tashkent during her visit to the country in June, 2014.

At this summit meeting in Seoul, the two leaders discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea in political, trade-economic, investments, cultural-humanitarian areas. In addition, President Park Geun-hye and President Karimov exchanged opinions on regional issues that are of mutual interest.

After the meeting the Parties signed a number of important bilateral documents aimed at further advancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two strategic partners.
