Choi pledges to realize the life philosophy of founder Donggyo Kim Hee-soo
Soorim Cultural Foundation announced on Aug. 3 that Choi Kyu-hak, former assistant minister of the Planning and Coordination Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, took office as the new chairman.
Choi, the new chairman of the foundation, also served as the ministry’s spokesperson, the head of the National Communication Office, and the head of the Korean Cultural Center in Britain. Currently, he is serving as advisor of Kim & Chang law firm.
Founded in 2009, Soorim Cultural Foundation implements various projects such as supporting art creation, fostering cultural and artistic talent, and awarding to realize the life philosophy of founder Donggyo Kim Hee-soo.
Choi, who has served as an auditor of the foundation since 2018, said, "We will focus on expanding support for purpose projects and artists in order to succeed the purpose of establishing the foundation."
