Interpark held a general shareholders' meeting and a board of directors’ meeting to appoint Choi Hwi-young, the former CEO of Triple, as the new CEO.
Choi, a former Yonhap News Agency reporter, joined Yahoo Korea after 10-year career of journalism and contributed to the establishment of a portal news service.
In 2002, he moved to NHN and served as CEO, and in 2016, he started and operated Triple, a super-personalized travel platform.
Interpark said, "We judged that Choi's understanding of the platform industry and expertise in the travel industry fit Interpark's vision."
The new CEO Choi said, "We plan to grow Interpark into a technology-based travel and leisure company that is drawing attention beyond Korea. We will also add innovative technology to travel and performance data held by Interpark to lead the digital transformation of the travel and leisure industry and preemptively respond to travel demand in advance.”
