Mayor Lee Kwon-jae of Osan City said at a press conference held on the 100th day of his inauguration, “I will do my best to revive the economy by making the 8th-term popular vote the first year of economic recovery in Osan City."
At the press conference held at Osan City Hall on Oct. 5, Mayor Lee explained the policy direction and vision of the provincial city.
Noting that he will continue to work hard to find answers in the field by communicating with citizens after his inauguration, Mayor Lee said. “I will lead the city with a new resolution every day.”
The mayor declared a super-austerity finance at the inaugural press conference in July, saying that Osan City is facing the financial crisis.
After his inauguration, he met unexpected reefs such as the Seoul National University site repurchase lawsuit, but he emphasized that he would seek a balanced policy reflecting a field situation close to the lives of citizens.
Mayor Lee emphasized, “We will set policy priorities through selection and concentration, not unconditional budget cuts.”
“The functionally duplicated projects will be merged or integrated. We will faithfully pursue efficiency for harmonious development within the tightening fiscal framework that does not lose publicity.”
He explained the pledge project under the 'Four Major City Policy' and expressed his strong will to establish a new growth base in Osan City and improve settlement conditions.

Finally, for creation of the peaceful administrative city, we will strong push for △ Expansion of administrative districts and promotion of divisions in accordance with the living area of real citizens △ Maintenance of unreasonable self-governing laws and regulations △ Formation of a policy advisory committee with expertise.
Mayor Lee also met with 40 taxi drivers at the taxi platform of Osan Station Transit Center and listened to their difficulties and exchanged opinions on the pending issues.
Commenting on the laxity of the former mayor, the waste of budget, and the reduction of the foundation's personnel, Mayor Lee said, “It was a lesson from the last few election failures and it is very helpful now for implementation of the city's current administration.”
