Korea's largest public procurement expo strengthens global collaboration and supports SME growth

On March 5th, the 'Korea Public Procurement Expo 2025,' a comprehensive public procurement exhibition hosted by the Public Procurement Service (PPS), opened at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province. The event features the participation of over 650 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are showcasing a wide range of advanced products and services incorporating cutting-edge technology.

The opening ceremony was attended by government officials, including the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) and the Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), and was held with great success. Additionally, international procurement officials from Canada, Turkey, and France were also in attendance, highlighting the Expo’s expansion into a global platform for public procurement cooperation.

In his opening remarks, Lim Ki-keun, Administrator of the Public Procurement Service, stated, "This year marks the 25th edition of the Expo, which has firmly established itself as the largest public procurement exhibition in Korea. We have prepared a variety of programs and onsite events to strengthen strategic public procurement. I hope that this event will contribute to the recovery of the public economy during challenging times."

Song Eon-seok, Chairman of the National Assembly's Strategy and Finance Committee, remarked, "I hope that all stakeholders in public procurement will come together and contribute to the economic growth of Korea." Lee Jong-wook, another member of the Strategy and Finance Committee, added, "We are pushing forward with the Public Procurement Framework Act and will continue to provide policy support to help more procurement companies grow into global enterprises."

Kim Yoon-sang, Second Vice Minister of MOEF, emphasized, "We will support the expansion of high-quality and innovative products to enhance the global competitiveness of Korea's public procurement market." Kim Seong-seop, Vice Minister of MSS, also pledged support, stating, "The public procurement market will serve as a strong ladder for SMEs, and we will provide the necessary assistance."

The ‘Korea Public Procurement Expo 2025’ will be held at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 until March 7th.
